The DB605 engine that Thomas and Tom have been busy bringing back to a              state where it can be displayed

The DB605 comes from a Heinkel He177A-5 of 4./KG40, shot down between Bolbec and Le Havre, Normandy on 12th June 1944 by a Mosquito from 410 (Canadian) Squadron.

The Heinkel, commanded by Obfw Werner Neuenfeld, was loaded with Hs293 radio-guided glide bombs and was on its way to strike shipping in the Western Approaches. The DB605 was part of an unusual, linked pair of engines housed in each of two nacelles.

It was originally recovered in 2012
